Information we collect

You can use the learning library without creating an account. Your saved phrases and local practice progress are stored in your own browser using local storage; they are not sent to a NihaoTalk account.

Our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, may process standard technical information needed to deliver and protect the website, such as IP address, browser or device information, approximate location, requested pages, and security signals. We review aggregated traffic information to understand reliability and help prevent abuse.

Audio and speech practice

When you play Mandarin audio, the Chinese phrase may be sent to the speech service used to generate the requested audio. If you use browser speech recognition, the audio from your microphone is processed by your browser or its speech-recognition provider. NihaoTalk does not create learner audio profiles or sell voice recordings.

Advertising and cookies

NihaoTalk may use Google AdSense after approval. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show and measure ads, limit fraud, and support advertising preferences. When ads are active, users can manage Google advertising settings through their Google account and browser controls.

Emails and feedback

If you email us, we receive the information you include in the message, such as your email address and feedback. We use it only to respond, improve the site, or maintain the service. We do not sell personal information.

We may update this policy as the website or its services change. The latest version is always posted on this page with its update date.
